Ammar; si comel kami....

Salam All... Ammar dah 2 tahun 5 bulan dan semakin hari smakin banyak akal dia... macam abang-abang dia.

On the 4th of July aritu Ammar ada Genetic Appointment at PPUM... our feveret spital. I took leave that day nak bawa si kenit pi jumpa doktornya. Today not so hectic day. Tak payah antar abang-abang ke sekolah sbb di berikan cuti sebab sekolah diaorng jadi tuan rumah untuk Guru-guru Pendidikan Khas. Actually, only Arham & Ameer's class yang tak payah datang TAPI abang Adam pun cakap cikgu dia kata kalau tak datang pun takpe. So dia amek kesempatan lah. Suruh bangun pergi sekolah tulah alasan dia.

Nway, back to Ammar. We went to PPUM by bus. Ingatkan Ammar excited naik bas tapi dia takut sebab ramai orang poyo... i nak dia rasa suasana naik bas. Dia lagi lentokkan kepala dia atas bahu i adalah....Nasib baik dapat duduk, kot ye pun dekat semangat tau anak i ni walaupun kecik.

Sesampai kat PPUM, ajak Ammar breakfast dulu. So we had 1 bungkus nasi lemak, 1 bungkus meehon and ice lemon tea. I dapatlah makan suku sebab semua Ammar bedal. Makanlah anak ku... Dah abis makan kitaorg singgah beli mineral water, offer Ammar biskut Oreo tapi dia tak nak... Dia nak kuih baulu yang dalam cups tu.... memang cucu mak i.... mak i suka makan kuih-kuih gitu... yelah duduk ngan Wan hari-hari kan...

So, berjalan lah kami.... ooopppsss bukan i dan Ammar berjalan eh... Berjalan la i sambil mendukung Ammar sebab dia malas nak jalan... jauh ok nak pergi Kompleks Wanita dan Kanak-Kanak tu...

Dah sampai, ambil nombor and daftar. Dah daftar tunggu giliran Ammar ditimbang dan diukur. Sampai time, masuk bilik rawatan, Ammar dah start nangis. I tengok nurse tu stress jer.. sampai dia tanya Ayah dia tak datang ke? I cakap la TAK. Jadinya, berhempas pulas kami memegang Ammar untuk ditimbang dan diukur.

So berat Ammar is already 10.32kg and panjang dia is 77.1cm. Patutlah sakit tangan i ok dukung dia... rupanya dia sangat lah semangat (Dah macam sekampit beras)....

So dah habis kesengsaraan itu, tuggu lagi nak jumpa doktor pulak. Bila jumpa Doctor pun nangis gak. Doktor tu cuma ukur lilit kepala dia...ukur lilit dia is 46cm. besar ke? Memang budak Achon kepala besar ya.... jangan besar kepala dah...

Doktor tanya perkembangan dia... i cite la dia dah main lawan-lawan macam Ultraman. Tapi bila bab cakap dia fail... dia masih belum sebut perkataan penuh. Tak sampai sepuluh perkataan pun. So doktor suggest pi buat Screening Test nak tengok hearing dia. ok lah saya setuju asalkan ia nya untuk kebaikan Ammar. 

Since Ammar is progressing except for the speeching part, we'll be seeing the doktor next year.... no more half yearly appointments.... Alhamdulillah.. our next appointment is on 4th July 2014.... woohooo..,

After that we went to the ENT for the Screening appointment. The staff suggest us to do the test on the same day as our Genetic appointment.... whatever la... so next year only we'll be doing the test... at the same time we have to TALK more to Ammar has to TALK more to us rather than hearing him with his incomplete words.

Go Ammar... Go Ammar... Go Ammar....

Last week, i had breakfast with my little Ammar Raziq because Wan (my mom) went to hospital to take blood for her appointment this week. 

So after send Adam, Arham & Ameer to school, we head no where... at last i decided to have breakfast at my good friends cafe at Plaza TTDI. Its called Cikgu Lyn's Kitchen. When we reached there, Cikgu Lyn is not in because she is not well.

We ordered nasi lemak and milo.... Ammar really enjoy the food... delicious food Cikgu Lyn...

Nway, how was your weekend. Mine was a blast one! Not blast macam kebaboom main mercun, we enjoy our weekend la...

Apa yang i buat eh.. let me recall.

Oh ya... on Saturday morning, we woke up early macam budak nak pi skool gak sebab Abang Adam ada masuk pertandinan bercerita on kisah2 nabi at SK Kampung Tunku. Mr Hubby@ayah send him to school at 7am. Then later at 8.30, its our turn (umi & ayah) to go to school for PIBG Meeting. You all tau tak, it is our first meeting since Adam & Arham masuk sekolah three years ago... teruk kan... takpe, i ngaku..

Yang best nya meeting macam konsert. Ada persembahan dari bebudak sekolah ni. Rajin tul cikgu-cikgi arrange ya... taklah boring sangat pun... overall sangat-sangat best la meeting ni for a first timer like me.. my mom cakap, masa zaman i sekolah dulu ayah i x pernah pergi langsung apa2 meeting PIBG ni... xpe whats past is past. Now my turn kan, so nak support anak-anak, mesti ada initiative sikit...

Meeting starts at 9.00 ++ laaa... and finished around noon. Ada jamuan sikit; meehoon and donut plus teh o... perut pun lapar bedal ajelah... Nak tunggu Adam balik lambat lagi, so kami pi Uptown sat sebab i ngidam nak beli cupcake kat WonderMilk. Memang aku ni ketinggalan zaman, orang dah bercerita pasal cupcake ni ages ago, aku baru nak try...

Ammar nya yang Angry Bird kuning tu... bila minta sikit tak kasi... sedap la tu.. 

Balik umah dulu, lepak2 tunggu Ustazah Adam call sebab nak jemout dia from school. Diaorang balik pun pukul 2 lebih, pi la amik dia. Sampai sekolah Adam takde. Dia dah balik jalan kaki ngan Azrul Amir.... bertuah punya anak... pastu samping boleh tercicir... ayah lah pegi masuk sekolah balik amik.. BTW, Adam tak menang pun pertandingan bercerita tu... takpe, 1st time kan... kita cuba lagi tahun depan...

Petang sikit lepas mr Hubby @ ayah dah abis tengok game rugby, kami pun bawa bebudak pegi Giant. Dah janji ngan Ameer n Arham. So beramai-ramai la kami ke Giant Kota Damansara, bawa sekali my anak buah i; si Lukman & Izzah. Dah puas main kami pun balik... bukan balik umah terus... pergi Ikea lak... Sebelum tu kami singgah solat Maghrib di Surau Mutiara Damansara. Surau dia besar ok, macam masjid... confuse kejap...

Bila sampai Ikea, budak-budak hint nak pi main tapi i cakap dah tutup.... sebab agenda utama pun nak makan meatballs jer... so bersesak-sesak la kami mencari tempat duduk... memang ramai sangat orang... cleaner pun tak larat nak cleanup the tables... dah beli meatballs idaman kalbu kami pun makan dengan gembiranya... kami cari table nak sambung ngan meja sedia ada tapi yang macam kitaorng beli dulu dah takde. Jadinya kami beli table lain.... Macam biasa anak2 sukakan karipap di ikea, so tapau 1 dozen...

Esoknya, hari Ahad i pi keje sat nak settlekan tender. Nak balik tu hujan selebat-lebatnya... pi amik Ateh kat umah sebab nak pick up birthday cake kat Gombak. Kami redah jugak dalam hujan sebab malam nanti nak celebrate birthday Ameer, Ammar & Aunty Ros (wife Alang Ambri). Dah lepas amik kek, kami redah balik dalam hujan balik PJ nak pi amik satay lak.. satay terbaik dan sangat sedap di Seksyen 14 food court.

Malam tu lepas Maghrib bermulalah majlis kecik kami. Mr Hubby@Ayah contribute KFC sebab Ateh dah sponsor cake yang cantik dan satay yang sedap.

Kami jemput Mama Farida and her daughters; Kak Yamin, Kak Sofea, Kak Fira and Kak Alin (Kak Alin tak dapat turun nak siapkan keje sekolah).

Dwarfism Awareness Month

Salam All.

This entry is specially dedicated to the Dwarfism Awareness Month to increase public knowledge about people with dwarfism. Maybe some of you are still not aware that our youngest baby; Ammar Raziq is born achondroplasia @ dwarfism. There maybe some questions you guys wanna ask; feel free to do so. We will try to give info whatever we know. And we also want you all to know that our AMMAR IS JUST LIKE OTHER KID BUT HE IS A LITTLE SMALLER.

What is Dwarfism Awareness Month? This usually organised by the Little People of America (LPA); i don't know if our local organisation - Persatuan Kebangsaan Orang Kerdil Malaysia (PKOKM) got such awareness but it's okay. I really hope they do; will check with them soon.

October has been declared National Dwarfism Awareness Month by the Little People of America. Little People of America (LPA) is a national support organization for people with dwarfism and their families. LPA provides peer, parent and medical support for the dwarfism community. This year they're having it in California.

LPA began in 1957 with actor Billy Barty and 20 short-statured friends. The first LPA meeting was monumental for a group of people who were severely mislabeled and misunderstood by society. Today, LPA is a thriving international organization providing much needed support, education, educational scholarships, and community outreach.

In declaring Dwarfism Awareness Month, LPA hopes to raise positive awareness around dwarfism, address common misconceptions, and increase opportunities for peoples with dwarfism around the country.

"People with dwarfism are no different than any other person. We may just need a well-placed stool. Our members are children, college students, business professionals, doctors, engineers, mechanics, artist and teachers. We can do anything an average-height person can do," says Lois Lamb, LPA President and a person with dwarfism.

"Raising a child with dwarfism is new for most parents. Being part of LPA has made a tremendous difference. My daughter and I both have great friends and role models. High school is not an easy time for most teens, but neither of us feels alone in dealing with any extra challenges." says Joanna Campbell, average-height mother of a teen with dwarfism.

More about LPA and dwarfism:

* There are over 200 distinct forms of dwarfism and skeletal dysplasia.

* People with dwarfism are generally not taller than 4' 10" at adult height. The typical height range is 2'8" to 4'5".

* Eighty percent of people with dwarfism have average-height parents and siblings.

* There are an estimated 30,000 people in the United States and 651,000 internationally with a type of dwarfism.

* In July 2009 the word "midget" was declared inappropriate and offensive. Preferable terms are: having dwarfism, short stature, little person, lp, and the medical terminology use of dwarf. A person's name is always the most preferred.

* PA has registered a complaint with the FCC over the use of the "m" word. Our goal is to raise awareness around the offensive impact of the word in order to eliminate use of it in media, popular culture and in everyday language.

*Skeletal Dysplasias affect bone growth, but generally do not affect cognitive abilities. 

Mission of LPA "LPA is dedicated to improving the quality of life for people with dwarfism throughout their lives while celebrating with great pride Little People's contribution to social diversity. LPA strives to bring solutions and global awareness to the prominent issue affecting individuals of short stature and their families".

Last but not least..... Ammar and Umi

Ammar @ 19months

Salam All. This is a late entry eh... Happy 19th months Ammar Raziq on 17th September 2012.

Pejam celik, pejam celik baby i; Ammar Raziq dah pun 19 bulan. Dah besar anak Umi and ayah. Dah makin gedik pun. Dah pandai berlari (berlari je pun keje dia, tak reti jalan). Sebenarnya, i tak tahu for baby like Ammar, terms jalan dia macam mana. Sebab dia nak kemana-mana pun berlari aje. Dah pandai nak makan sendiri. Dah pandai main lawan-lawan (ikut abang-abang dia la, tak padan ngan badan). Dah pandai nak ikut orang lagi-lagi bila Umi or Wan or Ateh pakai tudung (my mom selalu kata "bulu roma dah gugur" nak berjalan je). Dah pandai panggil Umi... walaupun hujung-hujung je.. mi..mi... macam mi lak i ni... Abang pun dah pandai panggil ; tapi bunyi dia ba.. ba... Ayah belum lagi. Bila nak start panggil ntah. Cian ayah.

Nak dijadikan cite, a day after his 19th months; di pagi yang masih belum cerah, dan si abang sibuk siap nak pegi sekolah (Ammar pun sibuk, busy bodylah katakan), Ammar mengekor abang yang baru keluar dari bilik air tetiba dengar jeritan abang Adam kata Ammar jatuh. Masa tu i kat dapur. And Adam cemas giler sebab kepala Ammar berdarah. Adam memang tak boleh tengok adik dia berdarah dia yang jadi pucat. 

Banyak ok darah Ammar. Menangis dengan kuat la si Ammar. Wan yang tengah baring kat atas turun sebab dia dengar Adam jerit Ammar jatuh. Bila tengok memang ngeri. So i pun panik. Nasib baik Wan ada pegang Ammar. Dia terjatuh ngan kepala dia kena bucu dinding. Sakitnya...... 

Lepas dah tampal luka Ammar, Ayah dia balut kow2 nye, kami pun pergilah visit UMMC - Emergency Paed. Sampai sana dah daftar, sementara tunggu doktor Ammar dah ok dah.. dia dah main-main kat playhouse. Ada satu Doktor tu tengok Ammar n perasan muka Ammar familiar sangat; yelah UMMC kan spital favourite kami. Time doktor jumpa dia melalak la sebab masa tu la nak tunjuk dia sakit. Drama king betul. Doctor tanya la macam mana dia jatuh (takut kes dera kot) and so on, ada muntah ke or pengsan ke (my Ammar is strong, Alhamdulillah) and decide glue tempat luka tu and tak yah x-ray sebab luka dia tak dalam. 

Sorry, no pics taken during the incident. Panik kot.

The next day, Ammar nye luka ternganga ok. I buka bandage malam sebelum tu sebab nurse kata by evening dah kering betul. I confident la bukak. Apalagi, Ayah dia tampal ngan plaster. I siap cepat-cepat ajak Ateh pi spital nak suruh doktor gam balik. Dah lah meredah jam, sampai je spital, nurse yang attend Ammar ada. Dia pun terkejut tengok luka Ammar. Dia kata tak leh nak gam sebab dah kering so dia rapatkan and letak plaster je (they call it butterfly). Then balik jelah.

Jadinya sampai ke hari ini, tempat luka itu masih bertampal ye..

Ammar dah ok dah. Makan laju je. Pagi tadi siap nak ikut i pi pasar tani. Gedik tul anak umi ni (macam Ateh... hahahahaha)

Our Weekend : Part 2 - Ammar's new friend; Aniq Razin

Hi. This is Part 2 of our weekend. Want to make this a special entry for our new friend.

Ammar's new friend. His name is Aniq Razin. He is 3 years old. He is also born Achondroplasia. How do we contact Aniq? Actually, I was blogwalking and reading comments on other Achon blogs and saw Aniq's mom; Dina commenting in one of the entry. Click on her name and pop up their blog. Then I add her at Facebook.

That was last year. Then this year, Aniq's mom PM me at my facebook want to beraya to our house. Unfortunately, we were not around. Then we decided to go to their house instead. So, last Saturday was the day. We headed to Flora Damansara from Cheras, by that time the traffic is ok and once we reached Flora Damansara, Alhamdulillah, we manage to get a parking spot. 

Once we reach the lift area, a door open and Ameer rushed into the lift and the door immediately closed. I was panicking. I ask Zul to climb the stairs but stupid of me? Want to climb til what floor. The lift stops at 3rd floor then it goes to 6th floor. Then it come down to ground floor. When the door open,  Ameer come out grinning. We scolded him and remind him not to do that again. My legs was shaking and my heartbeat was so fast until i can't think. That was horror ok...

The we all reached Aniq's place and at first Aniq is so shy. Then we, the parents talk about our experience and etc about our boys. We were served Satay. We had fun and happy at last got to meet Aniq.

9 years of love

Today is the day, 9 years ago. Today is our wedding anniversary. How time flies and Alhamdulillah we are blessed with four adorable boys; Adam 'Uqasyah, Arham Hakimi, Muzaffar Ameer and Ammar Raziq.
